Updated Oct 2026 · how we rate brokers

The limits of what is checked

Registers change daily, brokers change their terms, and a page is a snapshot of the day it was written. We put a date on everything we publish and state where it came from, so you can check it at the source, which is the only version that is current.

No warranty is made that the site is complete, without errors or uninterrupted. Where a figure matters to a decision about money, check it against the SEC Nigeria register or the broker's own documents before you act on it.

The site is a snapshot dated on the page. Where a figure decides something about money, check it at the source.

What you can lose

Leveraged forex and CFD trading can lose you more than a small share of your deposit, quickly. Most retail accounts lose money. A licence means a firm is supervised; it does not mean your money is safe from trading losses, and no page on this site should be read as suggesting otherwise.

Whether a position goes against you is a different question from supervision and from solvency. A SEC Nigeria licence speaks to how a firm must hold client money, report and handle complaints; it says nothing about the market. What decides how long a position survives is the arithmetic below, which is the same at every broker: leverage sets the margin, and the margin sets the size of the move that takes it.

Sites beyond this one

We link to regulators, exchanges, central banks and brokers. We have no control over those sites and take no responsibility for their content; a link does not amount to an endorsement, particularly where it points to a warning about a firm.

The links that matter most here are the ones to the SEC Nigeria register and to a broker's own terms, because those are the documents that decide the question, and ours is only a reading of them. The source prevails over this site in the event of a discrepancy, and we would appreciate being told about it.

How a correction travels
StepWhat happensWhen
1 · You writeThe page address and what the correct value isAny time
2 · We check itAgainst the public source you name, not against our own pageSame week
3 · The page changesThe figure is replaced and the page says it was correctedWith the date on it

A number is never quietly edited to leave the page looking as though it always said that.

Copying and quoting

Read it, print it, quote it with a link back. Do not republish whole pages as your own, and do not scrape the site to rebuild it elsewhere. Belonging to nobody, the register extracts are drawn from public records; the surrounding writing is ours.

The purpose of these pages

Everything on NairaDesk is general information about how forex trading and broker licensing work in Nigeria. No financial advice, recommendation or offer is given. Your income, your obligations and your tolerance for loss are unknown to us, and nothing here is adjusted to them.

Giving investment advice in Nigeria is a regulated activity. We are not licensed for it and do not carry it on. If you want advice, take it from someone the SEC Nigeria authorises to give it.

How these pages are funded

Some outbound links to brokers are partner links: if you open an account through one, we may be paid by the broker. You pay no extra charge, and the payment makes no difference on this site. The register extract is copied from the regulator, and no firm can pay to appear in it, to be removed from it or to have its status described differently.

A label that names the destination sits in front of each partner link, which the markup marks as sponsored. We neither sell editorial placement nor rank brokers.

Is this financial advice?
No. It is general information. Advice in Nigeria is regulated and we are not licensed to give it.
Do brokers pay to be listed?
No. Copied from the regulator is the register extract. A firm cannot buy its way into it, out of it, or into a different description of its status.
Can I quote a page?
Yes, with a link back. You may not republish full pages, and scraping the site to rebuild it elsewhere is also prohibited.
